FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Covid-19: Production and delivery is still operational from my print partners. They are following current CDC safety guidelines and may still be running with minimal staff and social distancing. Your order will most likely take a little longer than usual to produce. You will get a notification with tracking information when the artwork ships.
How long will it take for my artwork to arrive?
See the above notice for exceptions to this, but for a standard order placed through this site, allow a week to 10 days for production and one week for shipping. Keep weekends and holidays in mind too.
My print provider prides themselves on quality, consistency and fast delivery. Occasionally, there may be factors (special requests, unclear instructions, production problems, etc.) that might cause an order to be delayed. They rarely miss their production times, however they are not guaranteed. Some items, like really large artwork, may take longer in production.
What comes with the artwork?
Buyers of large framed artwork, stretched canvases, metal prints will receive a signed certificate of authenticity for the artwork, a description of my process, and 3 notecards as my thanks, in a separate shipment. Often these packages arrive before the artwork does.
Packing for artwork is a minimal as possible while still being protective. Your art will likely be wrapped in tissue and clear plastic, padded and shipped in a sturdy cardboard box. Prints on photo and art paper will be packed flat up to 36" on the long side, and rolled for larger sizes. Ready to hang prints (canvas, and metal) over 54" on the longest side will be crated at no additional cost.
What's your return policy?
I want you to be happy with your purchase. Artwork can be returned within 30 days of order date for a refund of purchase price. I'll keep your initial shipping fee and use it for the return shipping. It should be undamaged and in the original packaging. Just send me an email with your order number and we'll work out the details.
In the rare event your art arrives damaged, It will be replaced at no additional cost to you. My print provider does their utmost to ensure that your prints are packaged carefully and arrive safely at their destination. However sometimes damage can occur in shipping. Please keep all packaging, take photos of the damage done to both packaging and artwork, and send me an email with the photos, details, and your order number, and I'll take care of it.
Are the prints archival quality?
All inks used for printing the images purchased from this site are archival, UV resistant pigmented ink. Papers and substrates are acid free and of the highest archival quality. Framing, matting and hanging hardware is museum quality.
My print provider has received the Green Business Certification Award "For Exceeding Environmental Regulatory Requirements, Preventing Pollution, and Conserving Natural Resources". You can be confident your order will be created and handled in a sustainable manner by a company that cares about conservation.
Here's detailed information about the types of media and framing I offer:
Photographic Prints:
I offer photographic prints on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Matte paper. Prints will be crisp and sharp, printed on acid free photo paper with a soft matte finish. Contrast is great, finish is just a tiny bit satin - they would work well for framing. I'm able to offer these for a lower cost than the fine art prints, but the print quality is outstanding. You can order photographic prints mounted on gatorfoam substrate for an easy and affordable way to hang and display the art. Prints up to 36" on the long side ship flat, larger prints will be wrapped in tissue and rolled for shipping.
Fine Art Prints:
My smooth fine art paper is Moab Entrada Bright Rag, a 100% cotton, smooth matte finish archival paper that is museum quality and perfect for framing. Pigmented ink ensures your artwork will remain vibrant for many years. I offer clean, archival gallery style framing in decor-friendly finishes with a choice of mat widths. If you want to handle the framing yourself, you can order your print unframed, or dry mounted on a gatorfoam substrate. Prints up to 36" on the long side ship flat, larger prints will be wrapped in tissue and rolled for shipping.
Metal Prints:
Images are printed by infusing dyes directly onto specially coated aluminum sheets. For glossy metal, the sheets are then coated with a high gloss coating, resulting in a very crisp, saturated image. For semi-gloss, the coating is less reflective, making it a good choice for hanging in a room opposite large windows or where reflection might be an issue. Rounded corners are available, and framing is available. Two backing/hanging options are available depending on the size of the print. Very large metal prints will be crated to ensure the artwork isn't damaged in transit.
Canvas Prints:
Prints on canvas are archival fine art prints. Some call this type of print a Giclée. Images are printed with pigmented ink, directly onto the high quality cotton fine art grade canvas material. The resulting prints can then be stretched and stapled onto a wood artists stretcher bar frame (gallery wrap), mounted on gatorfoam board, or delivered loose (unmounted). Canvas prints can be coated with an optional gloss lamination for extra protection and a shiny finish. Very large canvases will be crated to ensure the artwork isn't damaged in transit.
Artist Choice Canvas Prints:
These are the canvases that I display in physical galleries. The images are limited, as are the sizes. I wanted to be able to give customers who saw my work in a gallery the option to purchase exactly what they saw, for the same price. The canvases are box mounted, meaning the canvas face is supported and the back is closed. The inks are vibrant and long lasting and the canvas is fine artist grade. Frames are satin finish black wood floater frames, and are 1.75" deep. They're substantial but not overly heavy, look great with any decor, and really make a beautiful presentation for the art. These canvases are shipped with minimal packaging, to save waste and shipping costs.
Notecards:
Notecards are A2 size (4.25" x 5.5"). They are glossy outside, blank inside with a matte finish for easy writing. The back of the card has the name of the artwork and my contact information. Cards come with white envelopes. Boxed cards will arrive in a white box with a clear lid. I am happy to offer wholesale prices on orders of over 150 notecards, contact me for details.
How do I use the Live Image Preview?
The Live Preview tool (augmented reality) on my site allows you to use your phone or tablet to see how my art will look on your walls. There's no app to install, you will need to use a mobile device with a current browser. Pull up my website on your mobile device and navigate to the image you're interested in previewing, and click on the "Live Preview" button. My website will launch your camera from within your internet browser and superimpose the artwork onto whatever you have your phone pointed at. It's best to stand 10-12 feet from the wall where you want to see the art, and face it straight on. You can change the artwork's position just by moving the phone, and you can choose sizes with the pull down menu at the bottom of the screen.
The ability to launch a camera right from the browser is currently supported by the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera, in both their PC and Android versions. If you have an Apple device, you must use Apple's Safari browser, version 11 and higher.
Do you ever license your images for book covers or other uses?
I do! Single and extended use licenses are available and pricing depends on how you plan to use the image. In the past, I have licensed book covers, corporate branding, bookmarks, and online advertisements.
Contact me for pricing and more information.
I would love a website like yours to sell my own artwork (or anything, really). Who is your site provider?
I work with Art Storefronts. They provide my site, the connections to high end printers, and my shopping cart. They also provide a whole lot of guidance and education about setting up and running an art site, whether you're brand new or have been selling online for years, like me. Click the link below to request a demo. I really can't recommend them highly enough.
